Canon Error E02: Out of paper
Also shows as: Support code 1000 (also 3442-3445 for manual duplex); alarm lamp flashes 2 times on PIXMA G1010 series
The printer is out of paper (support code 1000). During manual two-sided printing, E02 can also mean the first side has finished printing.
What to try
- Load paper in the rear tray and align the paper guides with both edges of the paper.
- Press the button your model uses to resume (Black/Color, OK, or RESUME/CANCEL on the G1010 series).
- If you are doing manual two-sided printing, follow the on-screen instructions to print the other side.

First steps for any printer error
- Write down the exact code before you do anything else — similar-looking codes often mean completely different things.
- Power the printer off, unplug it for a couple of minutes, then power it back on. A surprising number of transient errors clear here.
- Open the covers and check for paper scraps, packaging material, or anything blocking the carriage.
- Check the cartridges or tanks are genuine, correctly seated, and not empty.
- Confirm the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension lead.
- Check your model’s own manual — codes are model-specific, and the manual is the authority for your machine.
