Canon Support Code 1240: Operation panel is closed

The printer's operation panel is folded closed, so it cannot print.

What to try

  1. Open (raise) the operation panel.
  2. On models such as the TS5100 series, also pull out the paper output tray.
  3. Press the printer's OK button, or select OK on the LCD, to resume printing.
  4. To cancel printing, press the Stop button.

  3. Open the covers and check for paper scraps, packaging material, or anything blocking the carriage.
  4. Check the cartridges or tanks are genuine, correctly seated, and not empty.
  5. Confirm the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip or extension lead.
