Brother says "Self-Diagnostic" appears when the fuser unit does not rise to the specified temperature in time, or the fuser is too hot.
What to try
- If your model has fax, transfer received faxes to another machine or your computer first.
- Press and hold Power to turn the machine off.
- Wait a few seconds, then turn it on again.
- Leave the machine idle with the power on for 15 minutes.
