Multiple apps on my Samsung phone keep crashing and saying the app has stopped. It happens with different apps throughout the day.
When multiple apps crash simultaneously, the issue is usually a corrupted system component that all apps depend on — most commonly Android System WebView or Google Play Services. Go to the Google Play Store, search for Android System WebView, and update it. Do the same for Google Chrome and Google Play Services. These three components power much of Android's app functionality, and when any of them becomes corrupted or outdated, it causes widespread app crashes. If updating does not help, try clearing the cache for Android System WebView: go to Settings, Apps, tap the three dots and select Show System Apps, find Android System WebView, tap Storage, then Clear Cache. Do NOT clear Data. Also try clearing the cache partition for your entire phone: turn off your phone, then hold Volume Up + Power Button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears and you enter Recovery Mode. Use the Volume buttons to navigate to Wipe Cache Partition, press Power to select, then select Yes. This clears temporary system files without deleting personal data. Restart and test. If the problem started after a recent system update, check Settings, Software Update, and install any available patches.
