I just got a new router and my printer no longer works. How do I reconnect it to the new WiFi?
When you change routers, your printer loses its stored WiFi credentials and needs to be reconnected manually. The steps vary by brand but the general process is the same. On the printer's touch screen or control panel, go to Settings or Setup, then Network or Wireless, then Wireless Setup Wizard. The printer will scan for available networks. Select your new WiFi network name (SSID) and enter the password. For printers without a touch screen, you can use WPS — press the WPS button on your new router, then press and hold the WiFi button on your printer within 2 minutes. They will pair automatically. After connecting, you may need to update the printer's IP address on your computer. Go to Settings, Printers & Scanners, remove the old printer entry, and add it again. Your computer should detect it on the new network. If you set up your new router with the same WiFi name and password as the old one, the printer should reconnect automatically without any changes.
