My Apple Watch is not accurately tracking my workouts, steps, or heart rate. The data seems wrong or missing.
Inaccurate tracking on Apple Watch is usually caused by poor fit, wrong settings, or a sensor issue. Start with the fit: the Watch should sit snugly on your wrist about one finger width above the wrist bone. It should not slide around but also should not be uncomfortably tight. The heart rate sensor needs good skin contact. For better accuracy during workouts, make sure you start a workout in the Workout app rather than just walking — this activates more frequent heart rate monitoring and GPS. Check that your personal information is correct in the Health app on your iPhone: height, weight, age, and gender affect calorie and distance calculations. If heart rate readings are missing or erratic, clean the sensor on the back of the Watch with a damp cloth and check that the sensor area is not covered by a tattoo (dark ink interferes with the optical sensor). Restart the Watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown until you see the Apple logo. If data is still inaccurate, unpair and re-pair the Watch with your iPhone through the Watch app.
